What is the Committee on Student Interests (CSI)?
The CSI Committee oversees the structure and functionality of all student organizations and attends to any concerns or questions they may have to ensure optimal student life.
The CSI Committee oversees the structure and functionality of all student organizations and attends to any concerns or questions they may have to ensure optimal student life.
The CSI Committee is the main hub of resources for undergraduate students who want to start an organization. The first step in the process is an audience of peers and an organization that is considered a valuable asset to the Stevens community.
Addendum E outlines the process for starting and operating an on-campus and SGA funded student organization.
Subcommittee Chairs are members of the CSI committee that play a pivotal role in overseeing various subcommittee groups (ex. Arts & Music or Cultural), help facilitate communication, collaboration, and resource allocation among student organizations.

Looking to start a new registered student organization? Are you apart of an RSO and wondering what the next step is? The process is outlined below! Contact the CSI Team above if you have any questions.
Step 1 -- Starting an RSO
A group of undergraduate students propose a new organization to the CSI committee and prepares initial materials. They would additionally have to fill out the "New Organization Process" form when it opens on Ducklink
Step 2 -- Training RSO
The organization must demonstrate student interest and basic structure by doing the following:
Finalizing E-Board positions (members must meet Student Life eligibility)
Holding at least two interest meetings
At least 10 Stevens undergraduates per meeting
20 unique students total across both meetings
Recording attendance through DuckLink events
Obtaining a faculty advisor with a signed advisor consent form
Step 3 -- Probationary RSO
After progressing through earlier steps, the organization becomes a Probationary RSO and:
Is assigned to a CSI subcommittee.
Creates/updates its DuckLink portal, tracks attendance, and sets up an email alias.
Prepares a budget and attends subcommittee meetings.
Operates mostly like a full RSO but has budget limits ($1250 per semester).
This probationary period lasts at least one year before presenting to the SGA Senate for full RSO status.
Membership in the Budget Committee requires appointment by the CSI Co-Chair and approval by the Senate.
