What is the Academic Affairs Committee?

The Academic Affairs Committee is a body of the SGA that is dedicated to advocating for the academic needs of all undergraduate students. The committee mainly works with student faculty and administration to pursue initiatives involving curriculum advancement, undergraduate research, and more.

Current Initiatives

Student Certifications Program (CERT)

A Canvas page that grants students access to register and prepare for certification exams.

First Year Experience

Increasing participation and addressing feedback from current first year students and working to add discussions about civic engagement.

Undergraduate Research Week

The upcoming Research Faculty Social Hour event gives students an opportunity to engage with professors outside of the classroom.

Past Initiatives

Academic Research Symposium

Assisted the Stevens Undergraduate Research Department with a showcase of students' academic research.

TYPO (Take Your Professor Out)

The AA Committee provided vouchers to non-professional settings like Pi Kitchen so students could engage with their professors.

Minor Fair

A showcase of minor degrees offered at Stevens to undergraduates.
