What We Do

Engineers Without Borders-USA (EWB-USA) is a non-profit national humanitarian organization focused on the development of sustainable, renewable, and environmentally friendly projects around the world. The organization addresses “people’s basic human needs by providing necessities such as clean water, sanitation and education.”

Our Current Project: Chua Chua Peru

Engineers Without Borders USA works on engineering projects aimed at empowering communities to meet their basic human needs. Volunteers work on long term projects focused on solving various issues with the most common being water, sanitation, civil works, agriculture, energy or infrastructure. " EWB attracts the best people on campus and the world in my opinion. People who are driven academically, who seek to create a positive impact in the world. Being able to interact with people from different majors, backgrounds and mindsets provides a rich environment for innovation. I have personally met some of my best friends through EWB and hope to continue making long lasting connections with peers, professionals and mentors. "

Professional Development

Our chapter has hosted several professional development events including resume reviews, linkedin headshots, and mock interview opportunities.

Public Speaking

Students also have opportunities to share their projects and passions frequently by attending professional chapter meetings, conferences or other networking events.

Connecting with Professionals

Our fundraising team actively engages with many businesses and professionals from various different fields.

Discovering Other Cultures

As part of our mission we aim to also educate our team and others to the amazing culture of the Chua Chua community. In the past we have hosted events with our campus's Latin American Society and Study Abroad Office to further learn and discover other's traditions.

Service

To also serve our local community we have completed beach clean ups, and other community service events to give back to the local community.

" One of favorite part of EWB is seeing the hard work of a team come together and how the results of that hard work has a tangible benefit on the situation of others. Visiting the community during the Assessment Trip represented so much more than the work on the trip. The hours on Saturdays, late nights working on reports with the team, organizing travle logistics in another country, and the work of an entire team back home rode next to us on the plane to Peru. It was a privilege to carry the responsibility for that and serve not only the community but also my peers back home."
