Hosted by Stevens School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, this Campus Point Connection invites Smaran Dayal, an assistant professor of literature at Stevens, and Ben Baer, an associate professor of comparative literature at Princeton University, to discuss their book Spider-Mother: The Radical Feminist Writings of Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain.

Spider-Mother brings together the visionary works of Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain, a pioneering Indian Muslim feminist, offering fresh translations of her speculative fiction, essays, and manifestos. The book highlights Hossain's radical imagination and powerful critique of gender oppression, with a focus on her transformative ideas around education, technology and women's leadership in a colonial context.
