Airport Pick-Up Service
Powered by UBER

Registration opens on July 7 and closes on July 29, 2025.

Graduate Student Life offers an Airport Pick-up service powered by Uber. Here’s what you can expect in 3 steps and how you can request and use the voucher:

  1. Book your travel/flight.
  2. Complete the Airport Pickup request form found at the end of this newsletter.
  3. When your request is reviewed and approved, you will receive a confirmation email with directions on how to claim your Uber Voucher

Requesting the Service: Requests must be received at least 3 business days before your travel to the United States - the deadline to register is July 29, 2025 at 11:59 PM EST. Your request will be reviewed to ensure it falls within the program dates - travel must occur between August 3 and September 2 to be eligible for the voucher. Travel outside of the program dates will not be accommodated with an Uber voucher.

Using the Voucher: Upon arrival at the airport, follow the instructions provided in the email to redeem your voucher towards your ride amount. This voucher will cover a maximum of $50 towards your ride from Newark International Airport (EWR) or $100 from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to your destination.

If you encounter any difficulties or have questions about airport pickup service, do not hesitate to contact our office, Graduate Student Life, at graduatelife@stevens.edu. We are here to ensure your arrival and initial transition to campus are as smooth as possible.

Temporary Housing
Checking In, Billing, and Settling In

Registration opens on July 7 and closes on July 29, 2025.

Temporary housing is offered at a reduced rate of $75 per night for incoming students to aid in your transition to Stevens and search for permanent housing. Through our partnership with a local hotel, we ensure that your temporary stay is both welcoming and convenient.

Each room is single occupancy and only for the registered student. Students who have additional guests will be charged the standing hotel rate of $199 and will be required to rebook directly with the hotel.

Registration and Checking In: To secure your temporary housing at the hotel, complete the registration form at the end of this newsletter as soon as your travel is confirmed. Registration in advance is required. Your request will be reviewed to ensure it falls within the program dates - August 3 through September 2. Requests either before or after the designated program dates cannot be accommodated. Following review, you will receive a detailed email from Graduate Student Life with information on how to check-in.

The hotel staff will assist you with the check-in process upon arrival. You will not be asked for a credit card or payment method at check-in as Graduate Student Life will manage the billing process with you directly after your stay. The deadline to register for temporary housing is July 29th, 2025 at 11:59 PM (EST).

Billing and Payment: At the end of the arrival services program, you will receive an email to your Stevens email with a link to the payment form. It is important to submit your payment promptly to avoid any delays or holds on your student account. Failure to submit payment will result in a hold preventing registration for Spring 2026 classes until payment is received.

Settling In: Once checked in, take time to settle into your temporary accommodation. Explore the area, and familiarize yourself with campus resources, transportation options, nearby amenities, and potential permanent housing options. Connect with fellow students at Orientation on August 28th and throughout welcome events, such as Welcome to the Flock weekend and IntroDUCKtion Days. IntroDUCKtion Days provide new students with the opportunity to socially engage, build community, and learn about the many resources at Stevens. These events will be both virtual and in-person, and students will be given the opportunity to connect through shared interests and learn about support that will benefit their college experience. Please join us on July 31 for our Webinar titled Graduate Student Engagement: Joining the Flock. This webinar will provide more information on getting involved in campus life can boost your experience, open doors to exciting opportunities, and help you find your place in the Stevens community.

Our goal is to ensure you feel comfortable and prepared for your academic journey at Stevens. Should you have any questions or need assistance during your stay, please reach out.
