Details
Anxious for back-to-school season to start? Can’t wait for campus life to begin? Check out our Pre-Orientation programs for early access and an even stronger start to your first year at Stevens.
Join us in one of our Pre-Orientation programs from August 21–23, 2025. Pre-Orientation is an exciting opportunity where you will be placed in smaller groups to feel a part of the community and discover Hoboken and beyond! Activities will begin in the afternoon on August 21 and will conclude on August 23 prior to New Student Orientation on August 24. If you have specific questions, please email preorientation@stevens.edu.
All students who are registered and confirmed for Pre-Orientation will move into their fall housing assignment on Thursday, August 21 between 8:00A M-12:00 PM. You will reside in your housing for each night of Pre-Orientation through Orientation and beyond. More information about specific move-in times will be forthcoming.
August 23 only! Hoping for a more low-key pre-orientation program? The Less Quack While You Unpack program is only one day long and is designed as a lower-stress, lower-stimulation experience that will familiarize you with campus buildings and resources, in addition to providing activities on campus that will allow you to get to know your peers. Students who register for this program will move into their fall housing assignment on Saturday, August 23.
Please register for only one Pre-Orientation program.

First Generation and/or Limited Income (FLI)
FLI Pre-Orientation is a wonderful program centering on the experience of first-generation and/or limited income (FLI) students. Get answers to your questions about succeeding in college, make new friends, meet faculty and staff, explore the local area, and get tips on using campus resources in a fun and empowering environment! Families are invited to stay with their student during the first afternoon of events to enjoy a complimentary lunch and get helpful information. A first-generation college student is someone whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) have not graduated from a four-year college or university. Students who self-identify as limited income may receive a Pell Grant or funding through New Jersey’s EOF program, but any student interested in these resources is welcome to participate in FLI Pre-Orientation.
