EC Arts: Wicked

Wicked on Broadway has defied gravity at the Gershwin Theatre for nearly 20 years and counting, making history as the fourth-longest-running Broadway show of all time. 

Based on Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, the best-selling 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, the Wicked musical centers on the Wizard of Oz antagonist before she got that malicious moniker. First, she was Elphaba, a green-skinned outcast with an extraordinary talent for sorcery. She strikes up an unlikely friendship with Glinda the Good Witch at school, but it turns upside down when a meeting with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz goes awry.
